Ages are decided by the persons age on January 1st of the same year they are racing
All Classes are SOCCS Specific and are not intended to be similar or like any other
classes in any other race or series AMA or outlaw included!
GENERAL RULES:
1. All People Enter properties at their own risk!
2. NO Spectator or Pit riding permitted.
3. Warm-up riding is limited to the start area and only after an official has given permission and the rider
has registered for the event.
4. Riders must not exceed 1st gear idle when traveling to and from their pit area and must always wear a
helmet.
5. Riders must register for the race before riding their machine anywhere.
6. Riders will receive a number or bar code. The number or bar code must be placed on the lower left
chin side of the helmet.
7. Riders are responsible for the actions of their entire pit crew.
8. Radios are permitted between pit crew members, but not with riders.
9. Rider Contact: Deliberate ramming, blocking, or intentional contact with another rider may be cause
for penalty.
10. Rider Conduct: Unsportsman-like conduct may result in disqualification.
11. Team Tactics: Team tactics include blocking, allowing another rider to pass or exchanging machines
in order for another rider to continue the race. Riders involved may be disqualified from the race and the
next scheduled race.
12. Riders will be disqualified for riding a course during the 5 days prior to the first day of the event.
Unless a Practice Day has been established by the promoter or they are working on the preperation of
the course.
13. Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
14. Parents or legal guardians are solely responsible for the machine choice of their child. Many atvs and
dirtbikes are designed and intended for a certain age group. The SOCCS and anyone connected with
any events are in no way liable. Therefor the guardians decision to allow there child to ride an atv or
dirtbike of any size or orientation is soley the parent/s or guardian/s decision.
EQUIPMENT:
1. All machines must have silencers. Machines may be tested by officials at any time prior to, during or
after the event. The sound level is 99 db's.
2. The machine a rider leaves the starting line on is the official machine of the rider for that event, and he
may not switch during the event.
3. No rider is allowed to carry gasoline except inside his machine’s gasoline tank.
4. All machines must have a working kill switch (bikes) or tether cord (ATV).
5. All riders must wear a helmet and protective eyewear!
COURSE:
1. A SOCCS course may include trails, footpaths, hills, motocross tracks, enduro and endurocross or
any type of terrain which can be negotiated by a bike or ATV.
2. The course will be open to inspection on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Participants are permitted to walk or
bicycle the course only. Any person riding the course within 5 days prior to the race are not eligible to
race(except for people that are working to set up the course) . Riders not abiding by this rule may be
disqualified for the entire series.
3. Marking, cutting, tampering with or otherwise changing the course in any manner is strictly prohibited.
Course modifications may only be made by an official.
4. Only registered racers and officials may ride the course during the race.
5. If a rider leaves the course for any reason they must re-enter the course where they left.
6. Riders must remain on the marked course. The marked course is within 25 feet of race arrows. Any
time double arrows are posted on both sides of the trail, riders must stay between the arrows. Markers
may also include any device placed along the trail to help guide riders, including: ribbons, signs, stakes,
hay bales, barrels, tires, etc.…
7. Riders encountering a traffic jam or bottleneck may go more than 25 feet off the course to get around
the bottleneck only. However, the rider must re-enter the course as soon as possible, and upon
approaching this section the next lap, must ride the original arrowed section if the track is clear. If the
original marking devices are knocked down, the rider must stay on the original marked course. A
"bottleneck" is a section of the track that becomes impassable for any reason, with the exception of
check points.
START PROCEDURE:
1. Starting procedures will be explained at Riders Meeting.
2. No riders, pit crew members, machines or equipment will be allowed on the starting line prior to the
Riders Meeting.
3. All riders must line up in their assigned starting rows on a first come basis before the Riders Meeting.
4. All starts are dead engine(except 50cc race, And Mini ATV's) The waiving hand above the referee's
head will signal all riders to turn off their engines.
5. All Riders are responsible for starting on their assigned row. Any rider taking off with the wrong row
will be penalized or disqualified. All referee decisions are final.
7. Any rider that misses the start of their class must enter the racecourse at the starting line and complete
the start chute.
SCORING:
1. Riders must come to a complete stop at all check point and scoring areas. "No Passing" zones will be
posted at check points. The section from the checkered flag to the scoring area is a “No Passing” zone.
2. A rider will be penalized for running into an official.
3. Awards are given at the rate of 1 award per 3 riders, with a minimum of 3 awards per class and a
maximum of 10.
4. Racers have 20 minutes to finish the race after the overall winner takes the checkered flag.
5. Riders may get mechanical assistance on the course from their pit crew or spectators, but must finish
the race under the machine's own power or by the physical energy of the rider.
6. No towing allowed. If a machine is towed in from the course, that lap will not count.
7. A rider may question the scores within the 20-minute period following the posting of the final results.
After 20 minutes, awards will be given out. At this time all results are considered final. Clerical errors can
be changed at any time throughout the season at the discretion of the SOCCS Staff.
8. Penalties will be assessed at the discretion of the official based on the severity of the offense, and may
include one or more of the following: one or more positions; one or more laps; time penalty; or
disqualification. The referee has the final decision in any and all aspects of the events.
Protests
1. There are three types of protests:
a. Visual protests relate to motorcycles/atvs and components
where compliance or noncompliance can be
confirmed visually.
b. Technical protests relate to motorcycles/atvs and
components where some type of measuring device or
teardown procedure is needed to confirm compliance
or noncompliance with the rules.
c. All other protests will be defined as administrative.
2. Unless specifically excluded herein, riders may lodge
protests on any matter regarding an event in which they
were a participant. Such matters may include, but are not
limited to, the conformity of a machine or the eligibility of a
rider.
3. Each protest must be made separately and in writing,
signed by the protesting rider. Each protest must specify
the violation of SOCCS rules or procedures that is alleged,
and must be accompanied by the appropriate filing fee.
a. For each protest, $50 per item or component
protested.
b. In addition to the protest fee(s), the following
teardown fees will apply for a technical protest
requiring measurement or teardown of an engine:
(1) 2-stroke: $100.
(2) 4-stroke: $250.
(3) An additional $100 is required for measurement
of any engine that must be removed from the
frame for inspection.
4. The referee (or his designee) must accept any protest that
is properly made within the specified time limit and
accompanied by the appropriate fee. The referee may not
accept any protest that is not properly filed and
accompanied by the required fee.
5. All protests must be filed within 30-minutes of the posting
of results of the event in question.
6. Final determination of the timeliness of a protest will rest
with the meet referee and such decision will be final to all
concerned.
7. The referee will render decisions on all protests as soon as
possible. If it is not possible to render an immediate
decision, the referee may allow a protested rider or
machine to compete under protest. In such cases,
payment of all affected points and awards will be withheld
pending a decision on the protest.
8. When a protest involves piston displacement or any other
internal engine modification, the referee must call for an
engine measurement or inspection after the meet. The
protesting party must be present during the inspection, is
entitled to witness the teardown, and must be informed of
all measurements.
9. The referee is empowered to levy appropriate penalties
shown herein as the result of a protest and subsequent
investigation.
10. Once made, a protest cannot be withdrawn without the
permission of the referee.
11. Any legitimate expense to which the referee may be put as
the result of a protest must be paid by the protesting party,
and the referee may require a deposit from the protesting
party sufficient to cover such expenses. If the protest is
upheld, however, such costs must be reimbursed by the
protested party.
12. If a protest is decided in favor of the protesting party, the
referee will refund the protest fee and teardown fee, if any,
and forward a report in writing to the SOCCS Office.
13. If a protest is decided in favor of the protested party:
a. In a protest not involving teardown fees, the referee
will forward the protest fee to the SOCCS along with a
written report.
b. In a protest involving teardown fees, the referee will
forward the protest fee to the SOCCS along with a
written report and the protested party will be entitled
to the teardown fees.
14. The referee may call for the inspection of any machine or
component, , at any time.
15. Protests lodged at any event, where SOCCS
points are paid, and not resolved at the event, shall be
submitted to SOCCS within 72-hours of said event. In
addition, the referee shall call and mail denial of protest to
the protestor and submit protest funds along with copy of
original protest to SOCCS in the same time period.
16. All riders are subject to protest and must be available for
Inspection at all SOCCS events. In the event the rider in protest
is not available for inspection, an official may classify the rider as
ineligible for the race in question and no points will be rewarded.

1st = 30 points 6th = 15 points 11th = 10 points 16th = 5 points
2nd = 25 points 7th = 14 points 12th = 9 points 17th = 4 points
3rd = 21 points 8th = 13 points 13th = 8 points 18th = 3 points
4th = 18 points 9th = 12 points 14th = 7 points 19th = 2 points
5th = 16 points 10th = 11 points 15th = 6 points 20th = 1 point
Rider advancement;
any B rider(Bike B, 2 Stroke, 125, ATV B) that wins their class must move up to SC2.
2nd and 3rd place class finishers are asked to write a letter to the soccs staff explaining why they want to
stay in the class from the previous year or they should move to SC2
any c rider(Bike C, ATV C, miniatv novice) that finishes in the top 2 of their class must advance to a
intermediate class
any D Rider that raced enough races to qualify for year end awards or placed in the top 10 of any
individual race must move up to a novice class.
Any rider that feels they cannot compete in the class they are to advance to can petition by writing a letter
and emailing or sending it to our office in Humboldt. A group of SOCC officials will review the letter and
make a decision.
A rider may change classes mid season and still be eligible for year end awards as long as they enter 9 of
11 races. The same rider will only receive an award for their best finishing position in 1 class.
Each rider counts best 9 finishes towards series points to decide the winners in each class.
If a rider is ahead of you in points, but did not ride enough races to qualify, they will be
removed and you will be moved up.
Ties
Ties for the overall and class championships will be broken by the most first place finishes first, then by
the most second place finishesand so on.
Class Championships
A rider must enter 9 of 111events to be eligible for series awards.
